Excavation Work
Excavation work is a skilled job that requires careful planning, and health & safety is paramount to ensure all ground work is completed to a safe standard. Considerations include ensuring that the ground surrounding the excavation doesn’t collapse, by supporting and shoring it up as work progresses.
The excavation must also be protected for the duration of its exposure with suitable barriers, so people, machinery or materials don’t fall in. It’s also vital to make certain that buildings in close proximity aren’t undermined or put at risk by the work being carried out.
Excavation work is required for example - when pipes and cables have to be laid, drainage laid. manholes inserted or when a retaining wall is required.
